Aerosim Flight Academy has announced a new aviation scholarship aimed at veterans. This program is designed to provide financial assistance to qualified veterans who want to pursue a career in aviation. Eligible participants may receive as much as $10,000 towards tuition for the Airline Pilot Track.
Aerosim Flight Academy President and General Manager Hank Coates, a 23 year US Navy veteran and aviator, said that “Aerosim Flight Academy stands ready to train, recruit and prepare the next generation of professional pilots and strives to make a seamless transition for our valued Veterans into the next stage of their career.”
What are the Eligibility Requirements for the Aerosim Veterans Aviation Scholarship?
- Applicants must have an honorable discharge from the US Military, and be able to provide a copy of DD214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty).
- Applicants will need to meet all admissions criteria.
- Applicants must provide a 500-word essay, touching on the following topics
- Your desire to work in aviation.
- How you could impact/benefit the aviation industry.
- Why you’re a strong candidate for the Aerosim Flight Academy.
- Applicants will also need to provide the following
- An up-to-date copy of their resume.
- High School or College Transcripts (whichever was the last completed).
- Two letters of recommendation from non-relatives.
What Factors Determine How the Scholarships Awarded?
The applicant’s essays will be reviewed by a scholarship committee, who will be taking the following criteria into consideration: originality, compositions, clarity, and relevance to the topic. In addition, GPA from high school and / or college will be considered.
Are There Other Conditions That Apply to the Scholarship?
Yes. The following additional conditions apply to the new aviation scholarship for veterans:
- Applicants must have applied to Aerosim Flight Academy as a new student.
- Funds from the scholarship may only be put towards tuition in the Airline Pilot Track.
- The scholarship is not transferable and has no redeemable cash value.
- If a student who is awarded a scholarship withdraws from the program, the scholarship is forfeited.
- Students cannot be awarded more than one Aesroim scholarship.
- Financial aid (including scholarships) are available only to those who qualify.
- The scholarship amounts will vary, the funds are limited, and they will only remain available until they are depleted.
