Record Number of Reno Air Race Pilots Attend Seminar

Reno Air Race pilots preparing for take-off

There are a lot of Reno Air Race pilots who will be participating in the upcoming National Championship Air Races. So many, in fact, that RARA recently revealed that the 19th annual National Air Races Pylon Racing Seminar (PRS), was attended by a record crowd. 79 airplanes and 130 certified pilots, students, and instructors interested in taking part showed up at the Reno-Stead Airport.

We are beyond excited to have hosted a record number of planes and participants at this year’s Pylon Racing Seminar,” said Mike Crowell, the President and CEO of the Reno Air Racing Association. “Not only is PRS an opportunity for new pilots to get a feel for the course and understand safety guidelines, it is also a chance for returning pilots to train for September. It was a great few days for the Reno Air Racing Association and we are looking forward to this year’s National Championship Air Races.

RARA sponsors the PRS to provide the opportunity for Reno Air Race pilots to spend some time preparing and practicing for the upcoming races. Pilots can check out their race practice times, and take in the available education and training that will allow them to compete in the race with maximum safety. The PRS also provides the opportunity for pilots to earn the necessary certification to be able to take part in the National Championship Air Races in September.

The 53rd Annual National Championship Air Races

Tickets are currently on sale for the upcoming Air Races. The races will be taking place this coming September 14th-18th, at the Reno-Stead Airport. And for anyone interested in volunteering as part of the race staff, they’d welcome the help, and have provided a place where you can apply to volunteer online.

Hopefully, we’ll see you at the Air Races this year!
